As a tall 40 year old woman, I'm always looking for cute flats. These started off as my "cute with jeans" in the summer look. However, they are so incredibly comfortable, they quickly became my dog walking and gardening shoes. I've just ordered a fresh pair to keep for nice. They aren't too shiny and the metallic is very understated. I personally tied off the leather laces at the eye in a a simple knot, and cut off the excess.

Great shoe. As the leather stretches, it is comfortably oversized. Usually I oscillate between a 9 and 9.5 and the 9 is perfect.

I bought these last spring while on a trip to Maine. They have been worn about 10 or 12 times. The soles are completely slick, and one has a big crack. The uppers are of good quality and look unworn and perfect.
Each of my old Topsiders probably lasted 10 years, not 10 wearings.

My goodness, I have the exact same experience with this pair of Sperrys, which disappointed me greatly! Also, only around 10 wears and there's a huge crack in the sole, opening up to allow water to seep in when it rains, soaking my feet! So much for water-resistant upper leather... although they do look so pretty. I was about to swear off all Sperrys forever more but reading your comment about the quality of how the other Sperry models have lasted much longer, I may be encouraged to try another? Which model in particular would you recommend instead?

I have never owned a pair of Sperrys before and was reluctant to purchase a more expensive shoe online. But I did and I am glad. They have become my 'go to' shoe instead of my sneakers or clogs #or sandals even#. Bought them in the platinum color and have received many compliments #plus my feet are happy#. #Note that they are not a supportive shoe, more like wearing comfy slippers.# I also like that they are not sparkly - too young a look for me - but have panache #uh, did I really write that?#.

disappointed in the cushion

for the price of these being so high i expected to get the same great quality super cushioned insole as the other high priced sperrys, but they aren't. the cushion on these are comparable to my off brands. my feet actually hurt a little after i wear them for a while. but they are super cute and good quality so i am not scared to wear them. they do stretch a little after about a week of wearing them which i think is good. i just REALLY wish i had the pillowy cushions on the inside like the other high priced sperrys. (and these inserts are actually glued in not tabbed on the others so i can't replace the insert...=(
