I bought this product for work. The non-marking & grip type sole are important for a person who goes on many boats

I have bought Sperry products for the last ten years as my work shoes. They are durable and comfortable and have the qualities that I need when wearing them all day. Better color selection would be a plus for this particular chukka style boot, but they are well made and comfortable and I would recommend them to anyone.

Aesthetically the shoe looks decent. The sole is by far the best part. The same cannot be said for the rest of the shoe as it is poorly constructed. The leather and upper materials are of inferior quality. I would prefer that Sperry's use a heavier grained, more durable leather. It is not a comfortable wear as the moc toe portion creates a lot of friction on the foot. I wish Sperry's would bring back the Gold Cup Lug Chukkas/Gold Cup boots or a similar product.

I agree wholeheartedly with Chine, please reissue the Gold Cup Lug Chukka exactly as it was, there is nothing that can compare to it. The Mariner II's have the lug sole, but the rest of the boot does not compare. I wear my GCLCs to work every day on boats and ships, and I dread the day they wear out.
