Yes, I recommend this product.

Excellent grip and snug feel for dinghy sailing, not at all clunky.

These dinghy boots are great for Lasers and trapezing and and hiking in other small dinghies. They are a little harder to put on and take off than Ronstan and Gill boots I have owned due to the zipper location and velcro ankle strap. They are snug with thin water socks even at one European size larger than I normally fit. They are great while sailing, my only concern is how they will last walking around the boat park on concrete and pavement before and after sailing before changing from street clothes.

I am very happy with these water shoes as I use them for bird watching at the ocean. I can walk anywhere with them and my feet stay dry. I find the size a true fit.

Dinghy sailing

PostedMay 14, 2012
I really do like these boots because they're great for hiking and they never slip while jumping around on a dinghy. BUT the ankle is very narrow, which makes them difficult to get over dry suit booties. For warm weather, they're great but I would recommend wearing them with socks because the insoles are weird.
Another note- there is a covering over the sperry logo that peels off.

I am pretty happy with this product. As a lifelong waterman, I have experience with all sorts of booties, performance sandals and boat shoes.
The SeaHiker boot has excellent traction and excellent comfort -- my two biggest concerns. My third priority is protection from the elements as I find myself in some extreme environments i.e. freezing cold water. I am looking forward to seeing how this shoe handles over the long haul.
Final note: The side zipper is great for in-out functionality and has a built-in neoprene flap to protect from zipper chafe in case you've got to do some coastline trekking.
A nice touch. All in all, I would def. recommend.
