I buy multiple kinds of shoes (running, basketball, training, etc.) and usually wear sizes 9 and 9.5. I chose to get a 9 In the top siders and that was the right move.

My dad is a boat captain and he has always worn Sperry Top Sider boat shoes. He did not have this particular kind of boat shoes and you thought he had won the lottery! He really LOVED the dark color one. Thank you for great products and a big smile on my father's face!!!

I love this shoe! Comfortable straight out of the box. Gets better and better everyday. The ASV upgrade makes a huge difference in comfort. I wear them all day everyday and could not be more pleased. Color is true to picture.
I only criticism (if you could call it that) is that I wish the top portion that the laces go through was the same color as the rest of the shoe. Just think they would look better. Thats just person opinion though. Overall, great!

I purchased 2 pairs of the Billfish Boat Shoe for the men in my life due to the performance discussion for absorption of boat activity on the ocean waters. They love the fit and I find them wearing the shoes for casual wear as well as on the boat.

Fan Of Sperry Since The 80's

I wore sperry in my high school days like the classic one and as far as I remember there were so comfy and gorgeous style. Of course back then it was the fad and it was never forgotten. I always love them but when I lived in the U.S. Va. It seems that I never found one till today. I came back to live in The Philippines and I always remember SPERRY! Wow I love the style and the comfort was unbelievable. Sperry rules and I hope this wont disappoint me for many years to come. My hats off!

I use these shoes as a casual shoe as well as on the water. The comfort and support are immediately noticeable. I would wear them all the time if I could. Highly recommended to anyone who likes Sperry, well worth the price, and a great shoe if you want to see what all the fuss is about.

Ok, so this shoe exceeds my expectations every time i wear it. I keep on thinking that the honeymoon phase with this shoe will pass and i'll find some flaw about it. I've had it about a month and its awesome. In St. Louis right now we're having higher than normal summer temps, and so i expect to be sweating in every shoe i wear, somehow the other day in 90-100 degree heat my feet were dry and comfy as anything in these shoes. I was amazed to say the least.
When i buy anything, i go for quality more than other traits--no matter the cost. This shoe has delivered to me, above its price point. It has fully paid out its quality. Btw, it handles external moisture very handily.
For sizing sperrys for me run one size big. So in athletic shoes i'm a sz 9, and in Sperrys i am a sz 8. Happy Sperrying folks, and dont be afraid to spend on quality.

I have been wearing Sperry Topsiders since 1978. I estimate I have purchased about 30 pair/styles including but not limited to the Classic, America's Cup, Billfish, Goldcup in leather, canvas and composite, 2 and 3 eye tie ups and slip on's for casual and dress. I live, work, play and even attend Church in them. 6 pair are still active and now I have the ASV in order to test the anti-shock and vibration advertisement by Sperry to help cushion my old feet.
So far so Good. Right out of the box they are comfort comparable to my Goldcups and broken in Billfish slip ons. My 12 M's in dark brown feel true to size. The leather seems thinner but more flexible than the traditional Billfish. The styling is traditional Billfish with one clear exception.......The sole is glued to the upper instead of being sewn on so Time will Tell if this method is as good, better or worse than sewn on soles. Clearly if I do not get a minimum of 2 1/2 years of normal wear without separation I will be disappointed as I usually get that and more from my Sperry's. Then I use them for yard work until I retire them.
The ASV antishock/vibration heel cup and forefoot inserts seem to be working well for me. At this point about a month into the test, I can honestly recommend the Billfish ASV.

I have a narrow foot so I had no choice but to order the medium, however with socks I did get a pretty good fit. I was somewhat disappointed in the color, I ordered the tan leather and they were much darker than shown in the website picture.

I've been wearing Sperry Top-Siders shoes since the late 70's. I've found with just a little saddle soap their good looks and comfort lasts. The America Cup version were extremely comfortable. These shoes last for up to 5 years and beyond with steady wear. My wife works in the shoe department of a high end store. It used to be a running joke, I would buy a new pair about every three years. Sperry provides good value for money.

Sole covering toe box

I've been wearing the same Billfish for years (Men's Billfish 3-Eye Boat Shoe), so I thought I would try a different style. The ASV version looks great, feels great. Unfortunately, after three days, the sole covering the toe box on both shoes started to peel away from the leather (it's not stitched), so I had to return them. The shoes were otherwise fine.
The uppers on my last two pairs of Billfish 3-Eyes have thinner (softer?) leather, which means the shoes appear worn out sooner. The earliest pairs held their shape for years. This is the same with the ASV, i.e., I don't think they would have held their shape any longer than the 3-Eyes. I would rather pay a few more bucks every two years and know I am getting the same quality rather than pay the same amount but get less shoe.

Three previous pairs of Billfish were instantly comfortable and long wearing. This Billfish AVS seems of significantly lesser quality; stiff uppers, poorer stitching, raw lining etc. Width is much narrower than expected in wide size .
This shoe may become more compliant & comfortable with time, however, as I am approaching 69 years of age, I may not live long enough for this to happen.

Sperry (Brenda) read my previous comment and immediately emailed me to try to fix the problem. I returned the AVS version -which I simply should have done iin the first place- and received a new Billfish pair in less than a week. The new shoes were, as expected, terrific out of the box.

I was a woman on a mission and bought the ASV Billfish shoes for my husband for Christmas. He wore out his pair of Barracuda boat shoes! He said they are comfortable and feels like wearing sneakers. I personally like the way the shoes look casual yet dressy. He has received many compliments. The shoes look better than on the website. My husband said I have great taste in shoes! That says alot coming from a man! Thank you Sperry...Well worth the investment. Quality product.

I never thought I would own a pair of sperry's, but my girlfriend had me try a pair on. These were the first pair I tried on and WOW talk about comfort. It was like walking on a pillow. Since they were so comfortable I just had to bye them. I would recommend this to anyone especially if you like the Sperry style of shoes and something that needs to be comfortable this is your shoe.

Greatest Sperry Shoe for Walking Around at Work

I normally dont write reviews but I felt the need to with this shoe. I got this shoe to replace my Sperry 3-Eye Billfish that I have worn for a year.
I recently got a herniated disk in my back and only tennis shoes would help with the back pain while walking. Of course when I had to dress up and walk around all day I could not were tennis shoes plus if I did I would look pretty ridiculous. I tried to find a nice pair of Sperry's (being my favorite shoes) that would look nice but also be comfortable walking around in. Then I saw these shoes on Sperry's website and noticed how they are made to handle shock and vibrations while on boats, hint the ASV(Anti-Shock and Vibration). So I ordered them hoping that they would be comfortable on my feet. Man did I made the right decision.
Right away the shoes are darker than they appear on Amazons website or Sperry's website. I liked that since I didn't want them too light. They are much nicer than they look in the picture. They have a great contrast with the stitching and the 2-tone color. Easily the best look athletic-boat shoe combo I have bought. They were extremely comfortable, almost just like wearing sneakers. I have been walking around in them for a couple of days now and can say that they definitely help take away some back pain and made my feet more comfortable.
Best shoe purchase ever in my opinion. I can say that if you get these shoes not only will your feet be comfortable but you'll also have some real nice higher end Sperry's that will catch some eyes.
