Stylish comfortable boat shoe

This shoe is very comfortable. Be careful of size. I normally wear a size 12 or 11.5 and had to get an 11 in this shoe. Very pleased with the shoes though and highly recommend them.

Sole gets hard and slippery

Great in all respects except that sole gets very hard (and slippery) quickly. I take them off when walking down or up an aluminum dock ramp. Never wear on boat!

This happened to the soles of my authentic originals and Sperry was happy to replace them a year after my purchase! My new pair didn't have the issue. You should give them a call

Great boat shoe

I absolutely love these shoes. They aren't the most comfortable shoes but they sure do look sharp. I have many pairs of AO's in different colors and love to wear my canvas AO's with shorts.
Sperry - pretty please come out with SOLID GREY CANVAS AO's. I've been waiting for something like these to come out for a couple years but haven't seen them yet. Thanks!

The size of the shoe is just a tad big, or all my other shoes are small. Great for non-strenuous activities; would not recommend them if you plan to stay out all day on your feet.

As other reviewers have mentioned, this shoe is way too flimsy and offers no support. The canvas on my right shoe ripped within a few months.

It feels like cloth on top of a piece of cardboard, very flimsy...I would have returned them if I didn't already wear them outside. I'm a loyal customer that now has second thoughts considering all the other options now available.

Extremely poor quality

After two months' use, top has collapsed to a shapeless form and inside of sole has lost all arch support. Now it feels like I'm wearing a discount store flip flop. Looked great when new but, even then, the performance was never great. Not worth the price.

Poor Quality, Great Style

This is a perfect summer shoe. It is comfortable to wear and stays cool, however I do not recommend them for everyday use or for someone who will wear them in strenuous activity. The canvas will rip and the stitching is not durable at all. I actually had to resew mine with sailing twine and a needle, which gave them a cool, boat-y look. But for $70 you can find a more durable shoe.

Quality is questionable at best

Quality carries a ton of weight in bringing my rating down. I have had two pairs of these shoes within the last 7 months, and both of them have ripped. The first pair I assume was a defect or something because they ripped within the first 2 weeks at the flap down beside the tongue. Sperry was great about exchanging the product and getting me another pair. The second pair has lasted better, but both shoes have now ripped on the inside of the shoe where my big toe is. The canvas has completely come away from the sole.
I really liked these shoes, and they would definitely be up there for "my favorite shoes ever" award...but they need to be better quality.

Poorly Made

The canvas sperrys are very poorly made. The tongue will quickly tear and you will be left with unwearable shoes.
Yes, the style is fabulous and great for the summer, but these shoes will never be worth the $70-$80 they will cost you.
After only several months of occasional wear, the stitching which holds together the tongue to the side of the shoe completely tore out. Not on one shoe, but on BOTH. The shoes will no longer stay tied because of this, and I cannot wear them.
At all costs, AVOID canvas sperrys until the product is improved!

bad shoe

I bought this shoe around mid august when i purchased i noticed that the soles of the shoes where yellow. i then wore them and i slide on everything such as tile and carpet. im not sure if it was a mold or something but it has worn off after a few months of daily use. but the edge of the sole since about a week after purchase has began to fall apart now this is very irritating and i love the design of the shoe and i hope that the next pair i buy wont have this problem.

When i bought these shoes, i instantly liked them. they were light, comfortable, and looked nice. i don't know if i got a bad pair or not but they ripped less than a week after they were purchased. i immediately returned them and exchanged them for the same exact shoe. the pair i have now hasn't given me any problems and i am very happy with them. i was surprised when they ripped because Sperry's are very durable. good shoe
