I bought the Sailcloth pair. I do admit; I'm VERY finicky about my shoes, and the FIRST thing I saw was arbitrary black marks on my new Sperrys (whether that be due to shipping or not)...
Also, as I said I'm, VERY finicky; the stitching in the front is very rough and the front of the shoe is rippled. I'd rather the front of the shoe be smooth. I guess that's probably bad only in my point of view...
Regardless, I love the design of the shoe, down to the detail inside it.

as other reviewers have said, the footbed lining comes loose up at the top near the toes. I own seven pair of the BoO Sperry's and this has happened with all of them. Some take a few days, others, alas, within the first hour out of the box.
what to do? well, the look of these shoes with the top lacing rivet are absolutely kick tush. so you have to buy a couple tubes of super glue. what price, style?
FTR, I use the Instant Krazy Glue gel (has to be the gel), untie the laces, pull the flappy footbed back as far as I can, and lube the toe box up with the glue, then follow the instructions for pressure times. Doing this keeps the footbed in place, and I've worn certain pairs all day-- a year after my home fix-up, the glue has held perfectly fine.

Great looks, but probably won't last

Amazing looking shoe with great style. The nylon is breathable and good for summer.
This shoe picks up dirt like crazy. It started to rain one day and now my shoes have rain spots all over it. Shoe is not easy to clean and the nylon lost its suppleness after cleaned with water and fabric soap. It is also not nearly as white as it used to be.
Great looks but not built to last!

This shoe looks great. Band of Outsiders did a great job with the aesthetics. I am glad I bought this shoe on sale though. After one hour of wear, the insole tore away from the footbed of the shoe and now bunches up under my forefoot. This is not the quality I know from Sperry and hoped for more from the BoO design house. Now I have to glue the insole down and hope it holds or I will have to then scrape away the glue every time this happens. I love the way the shoe looks and feels but hoped for the quality I have experienced in my many Sperry shoes. My attached picture tries to demonstrate what happened. This would not have been an issue if the shoes were a year or more old but after only one hour of wear, this was totally unexpected.

great shoe, but at $175 is a bit expensive for what you get. Wait until they go on sale. The shoe is very comfortable as compared to flip flops, Vans, Converse, etc. Great shoe with a seemingly high quality. I would recommend these at a lower price point (~$100.)

i was a very disappointed after wearing the shoe once that the inside cushioning came loose and peeled back with my feet as i took them off. usually after time with boat shoes this will happen but not the first time. now everytime i wear them it gets worse and worse. sperry should really address this.

I love these shoes, as well as everyone else, I get compliments all the time. I'm a trendsetter and I love the look of these shoes, but before I purchased these I read other reviews saying the shoes were half a size to big so I kept that in mind and I wear size 9.5 but I purchased size 9 which was a mistake it fits true to size so it was a bit tight on me but I kept them but it's really a great shoe and brand.

I agree with the comment that the inside footbed lining pulls up incredibly easy. I have four different Band of Outsiders Sperrys, from different seasons, and this has happened with each and every one, usually on the very first time I've worn the shoes.
A bit of superglue inside the toe remedies the situation. But this has never happened with any regular Sperrys that I've owned (and beaten to death) over the course of years.
High on style... in fact, they get an A+ there, but this technical flaw which is clearly isolated to the BOO line, really should be addressed.

this is my first pair of sperry's, and they are terrific. a very good looking, and comfortable a shoe. though, as has been noted on many message boards, they fit a half size too big.
in other words, i usually wear a size 12, so i ordered a size 11 1/2 and they fit perfectly.
all in all the band of outsiders edition is solid. a definite recommend.

I purchased the shearling version of this shoe, the boldest version, and it is assuredly one of the stand-outs of my shoe collection. Every time I wear them, I get equal parts questions and compliments. So well done, Sperry and Band of Outsiders.
The shoes run slightly big, and they keep the toes toasty and warm. Recommended.
