I wish I could have bought them in store. They are great shoes, look awesome, but they are way too narrow. and now it's too late to exchange them because they have already been worn outside. Sperry would never take them back. Which is another thing, I should have the right to exchange them still. but, it's a dog eat dog world.

As I have gotten older I have grown up from jordans to sperrys and dressy clothes not baggy shorts and t shirts these are just what i wanted for christmas and thats what i got and i can't stop wearing them i love them!

I bought these a few weeks ago in anticipation of cold winter bike rides to school (about 15 minutes away). They're made of thick suede and the high tops, when paired with wool socks and jeans, helps block the wind and keep my feet nice and warm. They're really comfortable and I haven't found a single problem with them. One note, they run about a quarter size too big but this shouldn't really be a problem unless your size is already a bit too big for you.

I bought these shoes for my 16 year old son after he saw his older cousin wearing them. The photo on the website was the closest he got to the actual product, and thankfully there were no surprises when he opened the box. The shoes look exactly like the photo right down to the color, which is always a risk you take when you order on line. He loves the fit, style, comfort, and color of the shoe, and I am happy that the product shipped quickly and met his expectations. I would not hesitate to order from Sperry again!

transitional shoes

As i continue to grow older and older i am beginning to make the transitions from young teenager to young adult, the kind of transition where i want to show that i am maturing, not only in personality, but dressing better and looking sharper and a bit more formal. making that transition now, i did not know what shoes to get since i needed new ones, my last ones were skating shoes, but i had stopped skating by now, so i decided to look at sperrys seeing how they look nice. im not going to lie, i wasn't sure what i was going to get at all, but when i looked at casual and as the Men's Bahama Chukka Boot, i knew i wanted them. they are nice looking, neat, simple, but clean. they are comfortable, go well with almost every outfit i have, and are a delight to wear, speaking of growing older, these are the kinds of shoes i know i can wear for a long time, and know i will look good in them.

They feel good. Wear them. I bought a pair that were good. I wear them also. Several mediocre to semi-attractive looking ladies pointed at my feet and clapped as I walked past them in the park. One woman even asked me if they were real! "100% real shoes!" I replied, proudly! So, in terms of aesthetically pleasing, these shoes get a double big-whoop! There is one area that is of issue on these shoes and may cause finicky people with medium-sized teeth to call you a raggamuffin or scallywag and keep you at bay. That area is the sidewall and outsole. The soles on all the vulcanized models of Sperry shoes will wear out several magnitudes of one faster than the stitched soles. It is just the nature of the rubber (soft enough to do a vulcanized sidewall) sneaker bottom. Although the sneaker bottoms do wear out rather more quickly than I would like, the splendid attractiveness of the shoes as well as the copious amounts of comfort included have made me a neat neat fan of these shoes!

I purchased the shoes in gray suede and they look even better than in pictures. Has a casual-but-still-nice look. One strange thing: the shoe laces are connected all the way around the shoe. So if the shoelaces rip, you can't replace them. But the shoe itself seems great.

Laces : That's how boat shoes/boat moccasins work!

On all properly made boat shoes, chukkas and moccasins the laces continue from the bottom eye over the tongue and into an interior channel that wraps around the back of the foot, just above the ball of the heel. When tied tightly and properly, the tension helps to keep the shoes on your feet! In an actual sailing boat, the full cinch around the heel would help keep your shoes on!
The laces CAN be replaced on some models, although it is much more tedious than a regular shoe. Some models stitch the laces in place. You can check by following the lace inside of the shoe and firmly tugging to see if it slides through the back. The authenticity is supplying you with the headache when replacing laces. If you are lucky and have a fully traditional make, the laces will be able to tightly slide back and forth through the channel that runs around the heel. If this is the case, you can take a needle and thread and thread the needle through the end plastic tube of the tip of the original laces and then through the tip of the new ones, you can pull the new laces through the back channel of the shoes with a slow and steady pull once you have the laces stitched securely. If they are tipless leather laces, you can lay the ends so they overlap an inch or so and wrap them tightly with waxed thread or dental floss - something that grips the leather enough to pull the laces through.This is one aspect of a true boat shoe that you should learn about and appreciate. The other being the "beehive" knots on the ends of the leather laces which, sadly are no longer standard and you have to tie those knots yourself these days!

The Removable Footbed is essential for me, since I wear orthotics. I own many Sperry shoes, as I have always liked their styling, quality, and comfort. Unfortunately I cannot wear most of them now that I wear orthotics. The Bahama Chukka Boot is perfect for my needs. Although a very attractive and comfortable shoe, I was disappointed with the quality of the specific pair I received. The sole on the heel wore through the first layer in under two weeks, and the stitching began to fray after the very first use. Honestly, when these wear out, I will probably just get another pair because I like them so much! Wish they held up better.
