Replacement Lace Needle
Package includes one lacing needle unique for boat shoes & moccasins.
Rawhide laces are sold seperately
Not recommended for child styles
Lacing Instructions: Taper end of lace slightly (scissors would work) & fit it into the end of the needle. Screw the needle clockwise onto the lace. For lacing, follow the original lacing pattern from the top front eyelet, down through the front eyelets like a traditional lace pattern. Then take the lace around the side & back of the shoe, in & out of those eyelets, back to the front of the shoe & continue at the bottom section of the front eyelets & again follow a traditional lacing pattern filling in the eyelets that are still empty.

I was afraid I would have to throw away my shoes when I broke a lace. I went to the Sperry website and found the replacement lace needle. It worked perfectly and my shoes were saved. I have several pairs of shoes, so my lace needle is in a safe place in case I break another lace. If you own a pair of boat shoes, you definitely need the lace needle.

You don't realize what a great product this is until you try to lace the Sperry shoe without one. I could not do it until I got this needle. Definitely worth the money!

To Use:
1) Using a sharp knife, take one end of new lace and give just a little taper for the first 1/16" (or so)
2) Squeezing that end between your index and thumb of your non-dominant hand, take the open end of the needle, which is threaded, and turn it clockwise with your dominant hand until it feels like the lace is attached (pure judgement here)
3) This is both needle and probe: use the tip of the needle to find a path between the eyelets of the show. Be patient, but most of all, be safe and do NOT push with the tip of the needle pointed at anything you care about

When removing old laces, some areas might be lightly glued. No big deal: pull on the lace until it "gives." No sweat!

Broke a lace on my Sahara boat shoes. Tried to figure out how to replace laces. Found the needle and figured I wuold try it with new laces. It was VERY easy to use and I had new laces in very quickly. Now I need more laces to break so I will feel it is worth the money.

Don't waste your money on this product, it doesn't even fit through the eyelets on your Topsiders. I've been an avid wearer of Sperry Topsiders for years and was frustrated when my dog chewed through my laces. Not only do you have to buy special laces for these shoes, but you can't relace them without a special tool as well. I would have been fine with this assuming the needle actually worked, but it doesn't. Guess I'll be taking my shoes to a shoe repairman to get relaced. Waste of money.

Worked wonderfully and it took only a few minutes to lace both shoes. A must if you want to change the laces on your Sperry's quickly and easily.
The only recommendation I have is that it should include the instructions explaining how the lace attaches to the top of the needle by twisting it into the needle.

This tool is essential for replacing laces. I couldn't imagine trying to do it without it. Instruction for use is found on the website, yet not in the documentation on, or in the package. With a little force, the end of the leather lace screws into the end of the needle. Use several turns to secure the end in so it won't pull out when you start threading the laces through the eyelets. Great tool...shoes now work and look alot better!

The laces on my Orginals broke, because they are so comfortable I did not want to buy a brand new pair. The relacing needles works Great!!! The only trick was figuring out how it worked. The directions instruct you to thread the needle with the lace. Not quite correct, its more like screw the lace into the needle. Once you do this the rest is a piece of cake! Just pull the needle through and loop around your shoes. Definitely recommend this!!!

A puppy chewed the lace of my son's new Sperry Topsider's. Replacing the lace was a breeze with this tool. I can't imagine trying to do it without the needle. It's a "must have" for this repair.

I tried other ways to fix the laces in my shoes and nothing worked until I ordered the lacing needle. Not only was it easy to use; it worked the first time with no problems. I did need to use a pair of pliers to grab and pull it through, but it was so easy. I would recommend it to everyone.

I was so excited to get it in the mail finally. I brought my shoes to a shoe repair place, and even they couldn't lace them. My shoes were brand new but my dog chewed the lace off. I bought this lacing needle, sure it would work. Didn't fit in the holes for the bahama style shoe. I was very disapointed. Wasted my time buying the laces and needle.
