I never received this order but on previous orders the dark brown laces don't match the original laces that came in the shoes. The originals were dark brown on the finished sides and natural on the cut sides. The replacement laces are dark brown on all sides. The original were much more attractive. Why can't I get the laces you put in your shoes when they're sold??

Lace Was Better Than Original Laces

It was unfortunate that I had to relace my Sperry Gold Cup shoes within 6 months of purchase. The "factory" Chinese laces easily snapped with normal use. These replacement laces are much better quality and are the right color and size.The needle worked well too. Not hard to relace.

Thicker than original

The laces were a little thicker than the original laces. This is slightly noticable where the laces go around the heel as they cause a larger bulge than the originals.
Also, my original laces were black on two sides with the natural exposed leather on the other two sides. Replacements of this color are not offered.

Wrong color shoelaces

After ordering my 1st pair of replacement shoelaces for my daughter's Sperry's, i had to send them back due to them being the wrong color (which cost me another $2.07 to return them). I then ordered another pair of laces and after recieving them, they too are also not the same color. So after reading others comments i am assuming that the color that I need is no longer offered as well! Only one lace is broke so i was hoping to only have to replace that one and save the other lace in case one of the laces breaks again, but i am obviously going to have to put in a completely different color of lace which i'm not sure will look as good if at all and now i have to replace both laces which i'm not looking forward to after the reviews i have read of how difficult it is to thread the laces back through!

i was expecting the laces to be brown with an orangish color shown in the picture and the same look as the laces that come with some of there boat shoes kind of disappointed

Telephone call was efficient. Person answering was pleasant and helpful. The laces arrived promptly but without a needle to use to thread them into my topsiders. I was told that the warehouse was out of needles. I called a few days later and spoke with a friendly person who sent a needle at no charge. It arrived in two days. I threaded the laces. They're great. My shoes will now last at least 3-5 more years.

I ordered a pair of the dark brown and lighter brown laces and neither of them were the color of the shoes I have. Sperry apparently does not offer laces the same color that came with the shoes. Don't order these laces.

These laces, although the lightest brown available, were too dark. They did not match my shoes at all. From what I can see, you can't even buy the replacement laces I need for my shoes.
I ended up buying a pair that matched at Academy. It was a bummer to waste my money on this pair. I would, however, recommend the needle. I'm not sure how you could lace the shoes without one.

Ordered replacement laces and needle, don't even think about not getting the needle, it was a lifesaver! Laces were darker than the original but hopefully will fade in time and they are acceptable to wear like they are. Glad to be able to wear them again : )

My new puppy made a "snack" out of one of the laces on a new pair of Sperry Topsiders, luckily, she did not "chew the shoe". I ordered a new pair of laces online, and received the new laces in a few days. I only had to replace the laces, and saved some money. I also recommend the lacing needle, as it made replacing the lace quite easy. The process took around 5 minutes with the needle.

My shoes came with laces that were black and natural on the sides. Does not look like sperry carries these. I ordered the dark brown ones but they don't look as good as the ones that came with the shoe. Very disappointed.

I think Sperry should offer the right color of laces for every single pair of shoes that they sell. Hopefully these darker laces will lighten up over time and match the shoe better. I also think that they could make the product description much clearer - I bought 2 packages as I wasn't sure when it says lace length is appropriate for ONE shoe even though there are 2 laces. Say each of the 2 laces is appropriate for one shoe.

I was disappointed that the two-tone laces originally sold with the shoes were not available. Dark on the top and bottom, natural on the sides. The original laces looked better than the replacement ones.

A simple product that could be improved slightly

Using these laces with the metal tool is slightly frustrating. You have to soften, chew, shave, or in some way taper the ends so that they will fit into the tool. Once done, the process goes well. Couldn't the laces themselves be slightly tapered at the ends to make this easier?
